Virginias House

A prominent & wealthy businessman, Cullin H. Tinker built the home in 1913. Mr. Tinker was a banker that brought his style and wealth to Glendale. He built the first bank in Glendale and was the Mayor of the city from 1916-1922.

The architect of the home was J.R. Kibbey. A very well respected architect of the times. Most of his work included large commercial buildings - very few residences of his are known to be built.

Sometime in the 1930's, the Jorgensen family purchased the home. Over the years, Virginia's House temporarily housed many pilots and soldiers with sleeping porches and the bungalow located on the rear of the property. It was not uncommon for Luke Air Force Base to become overcrowded and send soldiers into town to sleep.

The home has maintained many of its beautiful, original features. When originally built, Tinker's style was Neo-classic. In 1919, he had it remodeled to a more Victorian style. The chandeliers and sconces in the Grand Hall and Hostess Suite are original to the house.

We love and cherish this home and want to share your special day. We hope you love it as much as we do.
